5 April 2023
Zaporizhzhia, Rivne, Ternopil, Kharkiv region, Kyiv region, Mykolaiv region, Africa and Asia – missionaries continue to tell people about God’s love through various tools of the Gospel. Review of the work of the Christ is the Answer ministries (CITA) for March.
Four Christ is the answer missionaries visited the “School of Chaplains”.
“Mostly, I came to school to learn how to work with the wounded in military hospitals. Serving their families is an integral part of military ministry. That is why we help the families of military personnel who are currently at the front in various ways. We received certificates of chaplains, which will allow us to freely visit hospitals, military units and prisons,” shared Andriy, a missionary from Ternopil.
The training course included professional topics, for example, “Tactics and characteristics of the behavior of a chaplain in military service”, as well as specific ones – “Grief death notification and the rite of burial”, “Behavior in case of capture”, etc.
Zaporozhye and the region
The fourth club was organized by missionaries in Zaporizhzhia for teenagers from low-income families.
They say that, first of all, through such clubs, they want to make friends with children and help them learn about God’s love.
Games, contests, delicious dinners with friends, doing homework together with senior mentors, and interesting Bible study under the “Superbooks” program are what children have every time.
The Zaporizhzhia team actively evangelizes in prayer tents, transport, hospitals, distributing Christian newspapers and literature, distributes food packages to the needy, visits disabled and elderly people, travels with humanitarian aid to front-line areas, in particular, the city of Hulyaipole.
Missionaries also handed over glasses to prisoners through chaplains in one of the colonies of the region.
Missionaries Hennady and Olena visited the prisoners in the Arbuzyn correctional colony in Mykolaiv Oblast as chaplains with the Gospel for the first time. The family has been serving people in prisons for more than 10 years.
Hennadiy admits that he feels special, because the prison authorities address him with honor, although some of them remember how, before accepting God, he served his term in one of the colonies of the region.
In the village of Mykhailivka in Novo-Odesa district, missionaries help the needy, the elderly and children, as well as those who are addicted to alcohol: they distribute food packages, give New Testaments and Christian newspapers, conduct Bible lessons in a kindergarten and school, talk to children, pray for people and their children/grandchildren who are at the front.
The head of Mykhailivka allocated the building and the territory of the former post office for the missionaries to have their ministry.
They are already preparing for their first meetings in the new premises of the village: they are cleaning the building, doing landscaping around and thanking God for the answer to their prayer for their desire to serve people in this area.
Rivne and the region
Rivne missionaries held another charity camp in the Carpathians. This time, 50 people had some rest, including TDPs from the Kherson region, a widow with many children, and orphaned children.
Missionaries and volunteers sent aid to the elderly, disabled and wounded soldiers – crutches and walkers – a batch of which arrived as humanitarian aid from the churches of one of the American states to the regions of Ukraine.
We held two charity eye clinics for citizens and immigrants in Rivne: the participants had a free ophthalmologist consultation and received glasses as a gift. Everyone heard the Gospel.
Missionaries of Kharkiv Region and Ternopil continue to serve displaced people and needy people: food packages, clothes, thematic meetings, visits to the disabled and the poor.
