“Go and Preach the Gospel!”: Bishop of the Ukrainian Pentecostal Church in Sumy Region
3 February 2025
Fall 2024. The 8th missionary conference of the “Christ is the Answer” ministry in Zakarpattia. Viktor Klets, bishop of the Ukrainian Pentecostal Church in Sumy Region, encouraged ministers to fulfill the Great Commission despite all challenges and reminded them of the principles of God’s Kingdom.

“Each of us thinks about the fruits of our labor, don’t we? It’s like working the land: when we plant seeds in the spring, we hope to reap a harvest in the fall. But missionary work doesn’t always follow this pattern. That doesn’t mean we stop sowing next year. Instead, we evaluate our work, make adjustments, and trust God for the harvest. One sows, another reaps—but the outcome doesn’t depend on the one who sows or the one who reaps. It is God who makes it grow,” the speaker emphasized during one of the conference sessions.
Bishop Klets also reminded conference participants to pray fervently, humble themselves before the Lord, never lose heart, and always consider the results of their labor in God’s field. He pointed out that ministers who carry the Gospel have learned to surrender to God, knowing that the fruit of their work depends entirely on Him—He gives and multiplies the harvest.
Go and preach the Gospel! When the Lord gives this command, He expects His messengers to do it continually, and He provides the strength to carry it out.

“At times, we grow weary, but the Lord gives us strength to keep preaching. Christ is the answer to every question, to every problem. Nothing is impossible for Jesus—He is the Master and Sovereign over all. May God’s name be glorified in our lives,” Viktor Klets continued.
Speaking about Jesus wherever we go is our privilege. Christ came to call people to His work because every soul needs salvation and restoration of a relationship with the Father.
The minister shared a biblical story about how Jesus called ordinary, hardworking people—men who were engaged in daily labor and carried it out diligently:

“God looks upon the humble and gives them grace. They do not claim glory for themselves but give it all to Him. The Lord did not make a mistake when He chose you to preach the Gospel. No matter how many obstacles stand in the way, God wants you to keep going and preaching His Word. With Jesus, we can fulfill His mission!”
The question remains for each of us: Who will respond? Who will hear His call?
