First Evangelism Efforts by CITA in Brazil

11 November 2024

From September 19 to 22, the director of the international ministry “Christ is the Answer” (CITA) and missionary Taras Sen visited Brazil for the first time, conducting evangelistic events and building relationships with local churches.

São Paulo. This 12-million-strong city was the venue for a pastoral conference, a family gathering, eye clinic training, and evangelistic outreach for the homeless in slums and a rehabilitation center for people struggling with alcohol and drug addiction.

At the pastoral meeting, the director of the ministry presented the activities of CITA and shared tools for evangelism that have been successfully implemented in over 20 countries worldwide. Together, the leaders prayed for God’s blessing in their shared mission of evangelism.

As a token of the beginning of their partnership, local pastors received CITA-branded merchandise, including flags and “Conversation Questions” game in Spanish.

To minister to the homeless, the team of pastors went to one of São Paulo’s poor and crime-ridden areas, the city’s slums. They preached the Gospel, distributed food, and prayed for the people there.

At the rehabilitation center, people received “Christ is the Answer” newspapers and Spanish-language calendars, learned about CITA’s ministry, and heard the Word of God.

“God has plans for your life. God created you and loves you. If you listen to God’s voice and hold onto His hand, you will witness His glory and be amazed at what He will do in your life and through you,” Taras Sen shared with those in rehabilitation.

The ministers prayed for the people, and the Holy Spirit touched their hearts with repentance, healed their souls, and delivered them from demonic oppression.

In a local church, Taras Sen held a family gathering and conducted training on organizing eye clinics.

According to Taras Sen, CITA plans to collaborate with Brazilian churches by providing them with an evangelistic tent, Portuguese-language calendars and newspapers, and equipment for eye clinics.
