India: CITA Missionaries Held Evangelistic Events

Eye clinic and Christmas Eve evangelistic outreach: Missionaries of Christ Is the Answer international ministry in India reached out to Indians. 

In the city of Alipurduar in the Indian state of West Bengal, the local missionaries held their third eye clinic. The event drew 50 people. 

According to Angelina Filatova, CITA missionary to Nepal and India, the doctor not only checked the eyesight and gave glasses to all the participants, but also performed free eye surgeries for seven people. 

In this area, most people are poor, so the eye clinic was received with gratitude and as a great care for them. After the eye clinic, everyone was invited to listen to God’s Word. 

On Christmas Day, the missionaries held evangelistic programs for 180 children and adults in several locations. During this festive time in India, people gather with joy mainly to eat, but the missionaries use this time to share about Jesus Christ. 

“Hindus have many gods, so why not honor one more – Jesus Christ? That’s why they easily respond to invitations to celebrate. Since today is Jesus’ birthday, we can celebrate it. People come with their own purposes, like to eat. But at the same time we tell them about Christ and pray for them. God touches people anyway, some really give up many gods and follow Jesus alone, some experience miracles of healing. And that’s the work of the Holy Spirit,” Angelina said. 

The CITA ministry in India has opened a media department, three churches and runs missionary schools and eye clinics.
