In Uzbekistan, CITA Volunteers Held a Series of Eye Clinics
11 August 2025
Eye clinics organized by the Christ Is the Answer ministry were held in three cities of Uzbekistan: Andijan, Namangan, and Nukus. About 100 people received eye exams from an ophthalmologist and were given glasses as a gift.
“We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to reach people through the distribution of glasses — it’s truly a blessing for many. This ministry opens hearts, and we pray, asking God where to go and with whom to build relationships. The Lord sends us people through whom we can share the Good News, and we rejoice to see Him bringing them to salvation,” shared Andrey, a local volunteer with the ministry.

He noted that in Andijan, the glasses went to local Christians and their unbelieving relatives, who became more open to conversations with ministers after the clinic.

In the city of Namangan, such an event was held for the first time. Most of the glasses went to local Christians.
While in the above-mentioned cities the participants were mainly Uzbeks, in Nukus they were Karakalpaks — a Turkic people of Central Asia.
The pastor of the church in Nukus noted that the eye clinic is an effective tool for building relationships with unbelievers.
Eye clinics from the Christ Is the Answer ministry are held in about 20 countries around the world. Each clinic can host up to 90 participants. Among the advantages of such events, ministers name helping people with low income, the opportunity to share the Gospel in countries where Christians are persecuted, gaining access to closed institutions such as prisons and military units, and offering a personal approach to each participant. CITA has been using this evangelism tool since 2014.
