In Rivne, Taras Sen Conducted His First Mass Deliverance Ministry

27 August 2025

On August 23, about 80 people from nine regions of Ukraine gathered in Rivne for a deliverance ministry — to experience God’s power, receive impartation, and gain practical understanding in this ministry, as well as to hear teaching on casting out demons. Among the participants, more than 20 people needed deliverance from unclean spirits.

According to Taras Sen, pastor of Christ Is the Answer Church, director of CITA, and speaker of the event, this was the first time such a ministry was held in a mass format. As God’s power was moving, unclean spirits manifested: aggression, anger, distorted faces, and in one case, four men had to hold down a woman.

“It was a serious spiritual battle. Some people received full deliverance immediately, others partial — since a person can have more than one demon. Afterward, fasting, prayer, renouncing sin, and drawing closer to God are crucial. Sometimes the soul is still unsettled, and a person is unsure if they’re completely free, so I recommend waiting a few days before making conclusions. Some testified about deliverance right away, others shared later. We plan to meet again with those still in the process so the work can be completed.”

For two hours, the speaker gave instructions, called people to repentance, and explained who demons are, how they enter and leave, why sometimes they resist leaving, and how they manifest. During the break, everyone who wanted to could confess their sins and renounce them before the ministers of the church in separate rooms. Afterward, there was a time of corporate prayer.

“We prayed fervently, casting out spirits of death, suicide, immorality, muteness, deafness, antichrist, and others. During this time, God’s presence and His power were strongly felt,” said Taras Sen.

Throughout the ministry, the speaker interacted with pastors and believers from different churches. Some came to pray and support, others simply to observe, and some accompanied people who needed deliverance. Participants testified that they felt God’s power and a spiritual uplift. Many emphasized the urgent need for such prayer ministries, since in their regions — and in Ukraine as a whole — there are almost no similar gatherings.

One of the participants was a woman suffering from severe depression who had been taking strong antidepressants for a long time. She admitted that even the natural feelings of a mother — love and joy in being with her children — were foreign to her: she could understand it with her mind but didn’t feel it in her heart.

After prayer, she experienced intense spiritual resistance — fears attacked her even stronger than before — but soon they left. She testified that she felt relief, the heavy burden she had carried for years was gone. The pastor explained that it was the spirit of depression, described in the Bible as “a spirit of heaviness.” But in its place, God gave her “a garment of praise.” During prayer there were strong manifestations, several people had to hold her, but in the end came victory: the ruling spirit that enslaved her left.

Later she told Taras Sen that she was now playing with her children with joy, not out of obligation, and that she felt truly happy.

“I am so thankful to God and to people for such prayer gatherings. For many years I was sick, living under the weight of depression, and I never imagined that this could be the influence of an evil spirit. During the prayer for deliverance, I felt that spirit leave me. Immediately my heart felt light, peace and joy came. I sincerely encourage others to seek deliverance at ministries like this,” shared one of the participants.

“I had problems with my memory. It was very hard to communicate, to speak, to remember things. I felt like there was a cap on my head. At the ministry, for the first time, I confessed and repented before God. During prayer, I felt God’s presence, and then it was as if someone removed a covering from my head. My eyes were opened. Now it’s easy for me to think and remember. I sincerely thank the Lord for the deliverance He gave me. I also thank the ministers whom God has given authority to break satanic powers. I pray that we will have more such ministries in Ukraine,” another participant, Oleh from Lviv, shared.

“People’s life stories are often heartbreaking. Listening to what they’ve gone through is hard without tears. Outwardly, they look fine, they smile, but inside they are wounded, broken, carrying terrible struggles that sometimes even manifest in demonic ways. At such moments, the words of Jesus feel especially relevant: ‘The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me… He has anointed Me to bind up the brokenhearted and to set at liberty those who are oppressed.’

That’s why I want to activate this ministry in Ukraine. God has given me experience and knowledge. For three years, I studied and served in the team of Viktor Kurylenko, a pastor from Donetsk region who led a deliverance ministry. Theoretical knowledge that demons are ‘fallen angels’ won’t help people. What is needed is practice. My desire is to pass on this experience to other Christians, pastors, and ministers so that deliverance ministry can grow, because the need is only increasing. In our time, when the Internet has become a channel of many spiritual attacks, the church must rise up and serve more widely,” Taras Sen reflected.

The organizers plan to hold the next deliverance ministry in November.
