In Ethiopia 200,000 evangelistic newspapers were distributed

Since 2021, the Christ is the Answer ministries in Ethiopia has printed and distributed 200,000 evangelistic newspapers among the population in the Amharic language.

According to Denys Gorbachevsky, head of the media department of the Ministries in Ukraine and its branch in Ethiopia, printed products are currently a good instrument for spreading the Gospel in Ethiopia, because 70-80% of people do not have access to the Internet.

Therefore, paper media are relevant here. In addition to the newspaper, calendars were also printed and distributed. In the newspaper, we try to write about basic principles of spiritual life, because most people do not understand and practice them in their lives, even though they call themselves Christians.

The evangelistic newspaper presents articles by ministers, stories of changed lives, excerpts from Christian books, spiritual poetry, and prayers addressed to God. Readers can also find phone numbers of the community where they can ask for help.

The Ministries team distributed such newspapers during evangelistic crusades, during charity clinics for Muslims, to residents of various villages in Ethiopia.

Local ministers talk about the positive impact of printed products, as people are already asking for advice by calling phone numbers indicated in the newspaper.

“In the future, we plan to share through the newspaper not only the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but also family values, as well as the statements of well-known people about Christ, about faith in God and the Bible. We see that through the newspaper we can have a significant impact on society, as people in Ethiopia are open to accepting the Gospel,” commented Taras Sen, director of the Christ is the Answer ministries.

Let us remind you that the Christ is the Answer ministries opened a branch of the medical department in Ethiopia in the summer of 2021. A journalist, a videographer-editer and a designer work there. Materials for the newspaper are prepared by a team in Ethiopia in cooperation with the media office in Ukraine.
