Evangelistic tents: Ministry sends new batches across Ukraine and abroad

In the suburbs of Cologne, Germany, a local church received the first evangelistic tent with Bible messages in German from Christ Is the Answer International Ministry for street outreach. Eight new tents were distributed in seven regions of Ukraine.

“We are very thankful for the tent. We are using it for evangelism in the center of Morsbach in Germany, in the district of Cologne. We distributed 250 German Bibles. Despite the constant rain in our area, the tent gave us the opportunity to minister outside,” said Iryna Alfeldi, minister of the “Love of God” church.

In all Ukrainian-controlled regions except Vinnytsia and Kirovohrad, local ministers are actively using tents for evangelism.

Passers-by on the streets can read on them: “Pray, God hears,” “God loves people,” “God can forgive everything,” “God is love,” and so on.

“We can say that Evangelization began with a tent. The Lord had given me the desire to evangelize before, but when the tent appeared, more opportunities arose. There is communication and prayer near the tent. I was invited with the tent to various Christian charity events in the area. My family, my wife and children, help me in the tent during these events. The tent has become a great blessing for us,” said Anatoliy Luchyk, a pastor from the Chernivtsi region.

“For us, for the ministers, the tent has become an effective and powerful tool for spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our city. People recognize us from afar, see and hear what is happening.  Some come to pray, some to get a book, some to laugh, some to argue… We welcome everyone and try to serve everyone. We remember who is in charge of the tent and whom we are serving!

Heb. 9:11: “But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect tent (not made with hands, that is, not of this creation),” said Volodymyr Kharkivsky, a minister from Ternopil.

According to Mykola Cheremushkin, coordinator of the Ministry’s tent program, there are currently about 70 tents in operation throughout Ukraine, and more than 10 in the temporarily occupied territories.

Three crusade tents are also used in Poland, specifically in Krakow, Katowice and Poznan.

“Our church has moved several times, so we could not use the tent, and in connection with Russia’s war in Ukraine, our church was actively involved in helping Ukrainian refugees. But now we are planning to do street evangelism with the onset of warm weather: our testimonies of people’s conversion to God are still ahead of us. We sincerely thank you for this opportunity,” commented Valentyn Shukh, a pastor from Poznan.

According to Erubal Mulatu, director of the Christ is the Answer mission center in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, there is a tent in the city with evangelistic newspapers and Christian music to attract the attention of passersby.

In 2017, the Ministry began using this tool to share the Gospel. At evangelistic sites such as tents, anyone can receive free evangelistic literature, find the address of a local church, ask to pray and receive spiritual advice. It is also an additional platform to communicate with people.
