CITA to Host Massive Crusade in Ethiopia
24 April 2025
From May 1–4, the city of Debre Zeit in central Ethiopia will host the twelfth large-scale crusade organized by the international ministry “Christ Is The Answer” (CITA), in partnership with local churches and ministers. The main speaker of the event will be CITA director Taras Sen.
According to Taras Sen, Debre Zeit — located just 20 kilometers from Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa — is known both as a resort town and a center of witchcraft. The team is preparing for the crusade spiritually first and foremost — through prayer and fasting. Local ministers are spreading the word through announcements, posters, and by inviting people and worship teams to the event.
“As always, we expect an outpouring of God’s power during the preaching of the Gospel, during prayer, and through worship,” said Taras. “We’ll be calling people to repentance and faith in God, praying for healing from sickness, and for deliverance from demonic oppression. We want to inspire believers to boldly preach God’s Word in other regions and take part in active ministry.”
For three days during the crusade, a free eye clinic will also be available in Debre Zeit — all attendees will receive a free professional eye exam, a gift of eyeglasses, and will hear the Gospel.
Throughout the crusade, the speaker will also be encouraging participants to pray for Ukraine.
As is tradition before the crusade, Taras Sen will lead a two-day conference for pastors and local church leaders. This time, the ministers will receive a special sermon outline they can use in future services. A family conference for married couples will also take place during this time.
After the crusade, CITA will host a missionary conference for its ministers. Taras Sen is planning to lead a series of training sessions, especially for young ministers:
“We’ve got a lot of young missionaries — some are new in the faith, some are young in age — but all of them need solid teaching. We want to saturate ourselves with the Word of God together, so we can serve more effectively.”
“These conferences are incredibly important for our ministers,” added Yerubal Mulatu, CITA’s senior minister in Ethiopia. “Because they are leaders in their churches, the training they receive from Taras Sen is put into practice right away. And it’s not just knowledge — it’s the Word, and the pastors take it personally and live it out.”
The missionary conference will also include a water baptism service and a graduation ceremony for the sixth class of CITA’s missionary school.
The eleventh CITA crusade was held in Bonga this past February. Previous crusades have taken place in Boditi, Chuko, Harar, Dire Dawa, Shone, Sodo, Dilla, Hosanna, Durame, and Shinshicho.
