CITA Supports Evangelism Workshop for Women in Crisis
8 August 2025
In July, a special workshop was held in Ternopil at the Bread of Life Church for women who have gone through traumatic experiences. The event was organized and led by Tetiana Vasenda, the wife of one of CITA’s ministers. The Christ Is the Answer Ministry supported the event.
“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
These words from Matthew 4:4 were chosen as the theme of the workshop to bring encouragement and remind the women of the power and value of God’s Word—especially in times of war.

More than 30 women between the ages of 30 and 60 took part in the workshop. Among them were internally displaced women from Luhansk, widows, and survivors of domestic abuse.
In a cozy, tea-time setting around small tables, the women reflected together on how to share their faith in everyday life, searched for answers to deep questions, and shared personal stories that touched the heart.

Under Tetiana’s guidance—an artist by profession—the women created a handmade decorative piece with traditional Ukrainian elements.
A special guest of the event was Deborah Skalinder from Redhill Church in Ontario, Canada. Of Ukrainian heritage herself, Deborah shared her testimony of how God’s Word can become a source of hope and a solid foundation in the midst of crisis and danger.
At the close of the event, everyone joined in prayer for Ukraine and took a group photo. Each woman received a small scroll with a Bible verse as a keepsake.

“Women of different ages and life experiences came together to find support, hope, and inspiration. It was a special gathering filled with sincerity, prayer, open hearts, and the presence of God.
One of the most meaningful moments was hearing from our guest from Canada. Her love for Ukraine and her desire to keep supporting our country in prayer deeply touched everyone.
This day was a reminder that we are not alone—God is near, and His love can heal, restore, and bring new life. We thank the Lord for each woman, for the spirit of unity, and for the seeds of faith that will continue to grow.
I believe that we will keep finding ways to represent Christ in our society through art,” shared Tetiana Vasenda.
