CITA Newspaper Printed in Somali for the First Time
29 April 2025
The first print run of 20,000 copies of the evangelistic newspaper Christ Is The Answer has just been released in Somali for Ethiopia’s Somali region.

According to Taras Sen, director of the CITA Ministry, the idea to print the newspaper in Somali came during a conversation with a minister who shares the Gospel with Somali people online:
“I thought, could it be that God gave me a strong team in Ethiopia for such a time as this? We have an office, a media department, a missionary school, many churches, and missionaries in Ethiopia—so why not also reach Somalis? I gave our team in Ethiopia the task of working on the newspaper. And here’s the result. I’m truly thankful for their efforts.”

This first issue is focused on the theme of mankind’s redemption through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Due to the ongoing war in Somalia, millions of locals have been forced to flee the country. Around 4.6 million Somali people now live in the Somali region and other parts of Ethiopia. Most of them are Sunni Muslims by faith.

CITA missionaries in Ethiopia plan to distribute the new issue in the regional capital of Jigjiga and other cities in the Somali region.
Senior minister of CITA in Ethiopia, Yerubal Mulatu, shared that while there are no CITA missionaries yet in the Somali region, the team is actively seeking opportunities to begin ministry work there.
The Christ Is The Answer newspaper is already being distributed in Ethiopia in Amharic, Oromo, and Gumuz languages.
