CITA Missionaries Serving Those in Need in Mykolaiv

14 February 2025

CITA ministry missionaries in the Southern region regularly visit the children’s oncology hospital and a homeless shelter in Mykolaiv, providing material aid and sharing the Gospel.

Hennadiy and Aliona Holota have been ministering to sick children at the oncology hospital for nearly ten years. This time, they delivered 100 liters of clean water for 20 children.

“Since the first months of the full-scale war, after the Russians destroyed Mykolaiv’s water supply system, only technical water has been flowing from the city’s taps. Many people have gotten used to it—they even wash their clothes and bathe in it—but of course, they don’t drink it or use it for cooking. For children battling cancer, even touching this water is strictly forbidden. So, praise the Lord for His provision!” Aliona shared.

Hennadiy noted that most of their evangelism efforts are directed toward the parents of the sick children.

For the past ten years, missionaries from Mykolaiv have also been sharing the Gospel and building relationships at the local homeless shelter. Currently, about a hundred residents are going through rehabilitation, waiting for documents to be restored, and seeking a fresh start. During their February visit, missionaries distributed evangelistic newspapers and CITA ministry calendars featuring a biblical message.

The missionaries shared that they have personally brought people to the shelter—those who were ready to change their lives and turn to God.

In the Southern region of Ukraine, including Mykolaiv and Nova Odesa, four missionaries and their families are actively serving.
