CITA Ministry Hosts Its First In-Person Eye Clinic in Nigeria
21 July 2025
On June 12–13, over 400 people took part in Nigeria’s first in-person eye clinic hosted by CITA Ministry. The event was held on the outskirts of Lagos, the country’s former capital, at the Grace Harvesters International Ministry church.
Local church ministers shared about the event and the current environment for spreading the Gospel in Nigeria.

They reported that nearly 260 people with critical eye conditions received qualified medical care at the charity clinic. As a result of the outreach, 13 individuals gave their lives to God, and 22 rededicated their lives to Christ.
Nigeria is considered a dangerous country for preaching the Gospel. According to a major study conducted by the Observatory for Religious Freedom in Africa (ORFA), nearly 17,000 Christians were killed in Nigeria between 2019 and 2023. The majority of these tragedies—about 55%—were caused by attacks from radicalized Fulani Muslim herdsmen.
Ministers also commented on how local Christian communities responded to the tragic Palm Sunday attack in which Fulani extremists killed 54 Christians in their homes:
“The brutal attack on Christians was truly devastating. In response to such tragedies, Nigerian churches have become more cautious and vigilant in spreading the Gospel, especially in violence-stricken regions. But despite this horrific incident, believers in Nigeria remain steadfast in their faith and continue to share the Good News. Local churches are focused on promoting peace, unity, and compassion in their communities.”
According to the ministers, although persecution and violence against Gospel preaching in Nigeria make ministry work more difficult, the number of missionaries in affected areas continues to grow every day. These ministers, in turn, need both spiritual and practical support—such as finances, food, clothing, and housing.
In 2024, CITA Ministry has already conducted 39 in-person eye clinics across Ukraine and eight in Ethiopia. Altogether, more than 50 eye clinics have taken place in 17 countries around the world with the support of the Ministry.
