“Christ Is the Answer” Newspaper Printed for the First Time in Papua New Guinea

14 July 2025

Tok Pisin. That’s the language in which the very first issue of the Christ Is the Answer newspaper was published in Papua New Guinea, with a print run of 2,000 copies. Local missionaries Yevhen and Iryna Konstanynnyk, who have been serving in the country for 14 years, helped develop and print the first edition.

According to Yevhen, the newspaper is being distributed in regions of Papua New Guinea where there is no electricity or phone service. People there are eager to read it. The content was carefully created with the local culture and way of thinking in mind.

The issue contains 32 pages. It’s designed for both new believers and those who don’t yet know God. The goal is to strengthen people in the truth, help them grow in their knowledge of God, present the Gospel, and encourage them to seek Him.

Inside: a message about the sacrifice of Jesus and its meaning, pages for women, children, and youth—including an interview with a youth leader. There’s also a Q&A section about the reality of God, life after death, thought-provoking stories, information about Christian persecution, a call to repentance, a prayer, and even a Christian crossword puzzle.

On the women’s page, a minister from the local church where the Konstanynnyk family serves—Mama Joyce—shared her personal testimony about how God helped her through the loss of her husband and son.
For women, the page also includes words of encouragement to serve God, along with simple recipes.

The youth leader from the same church, Thomas, gave an interview about the importance of obeying God and how to faithfully follow Him—especially during times of trial.

Some readers have already shared how the newspaper impacted them. According to the missionaries, many said it helped them discover the meaning of life and how to serve God.

The missionaries in Papua New Guinea plan to print more copies as people request them and as financial support becomes available.

Tok Pisin is a blend of English, Japanese, and other languages, spoken by the majority of Papua New Guineans.

The Christ Is the Answer newspaper has been officially published in Ukraine since 2014. In addition to Ukrainian, it has been translated into four Ethiopian languages, Spanish, and Tok Pisin.
