Christ is the Answer Ministries: Tools of Outreach Continue to Serve in Times of War

Eye clinics, a Christian newspaper, children’s celebrations, trips to the Carpathians and charity work – the Christ is the answer missionaries continue to proclaim the Good News with the help of effective tools of outreach.

How did the ministers help people in September? Keep reading.

Missionaries in the Rivne region conducted eye clinics for townspeople and TDPs every week. Hundreds of people had a free doctor’s consultation, got glasses as a gift and found hope for salvation in Christ.

In September, at the request of the management of the colony in the Rivne region, a team of ministers held an eye clinic for prisoners:

“Thank you for responding to the request to help conduct an examination and organize an eye test for convicts and for presenting more than 50 glasses. This is evidence of an indifferent attitude to the health problems of convicts and an understanding of the importance of uniting for a common goal,” says a thank you letter from the Horodyshchensk penal colony (No. 96).

Humanitarian aid was provided to displaced persons and people in the war zone in cities and villages of Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Ternopil, Chernivtsi, Rivne, Luhansk, Kyiv and Zaporizhzhya regions. A local missionary evacuated four people from occupied Berdyansk in the Zaporizhzhya region.

Now there is a prayer of conversion to God on the Ministries branded packages of 10,000 pieces used for distribution of products this month.
The prayer of repentance and the word of God are more important than any brand, says Taras Sen, people need not only physical but also spiritual bread.

FOOD&HOPE – The ministries launched a charity campaign to help war victims. The goal is 1000 food packages for 1000 people.

Participants are offered to give up one visit to a coffee shop for a $10 food package. The campaign will last until November 10.

More than 40 people have already contributed to the campaign.

Missionaries arranged children’s celebrations and sports activities in Rivne and the region, Chernivtsi, Ternopil Region, Khmelnytskyi, Mykolaiv and the region.”Children of military personnel, children from low-income families, etc. were invited to the children’s celebrations. There were games, contests, Christian cartoons and interesting videos, gifts, the preaching of God’s word, a prayer for Ukraine, cotton candy and popcorn, and each child received a children’s Bible – all this spiritually enriched and amused everyone present,” shared CITA mission director Taras Sen.

Another edition of the evangelistic newspaper “Christ is the Answer” with 130,000 copies has been printed. According to the coordinator of the printing center of the Ministries in Ternopil, Andrii Wasenda, 20,000 newspapers were distributed in the regions of Ukraine in two weeks. The newspaper is in demand among missionaries, church ministers and volunteers.

The Ministries organized a trip to the Carpathians for orphans and displaced persons. This was the 29th charity trip in more than 5 years with the aim of consolation and spiritual growth of the trip goers.

“They prayed for Ukraine every day, held gatherings where they were spiritually enriched. Sunday school for children. The atmosphere was friendly, we had meaningful conversations with each other in the evenings over tea. Wonderful nature, mountains, a river, waterfalls, fresh air, a good team, emotions of children and adults, a team quiz – all this was God’s gift to those who were on the trip,” the organizers said.

And the CITA team met in September at a missionary conference in the Carpathians for retreat, communication and spiritual growth.

“For 20 years, I have been to many different conferences. I have always liked attending them, because I experience spiritual fulfillment. But this conference is special. There are no words to describe what I am experiencing right now. The format of this conference is unlike any other conference I have been to. It has combined all levels – spiritual, mental and physical. Everything is organized in such a way that you can simply relax, enjoy all the beauty and informal activities, and also learn new things. But the main thing in all this is communication, which gives wings! I believe that this trip is a gift from God,” shared Robert Yovni, a volunteer of the Ministries conducting an eye clinic from the city of Uzhhorod.

The Ministries have been operating since 2014.
