In the beginning of 2021, CITA mission team visited Ethiopia for the first time. Seeing the great need and desiring to bring God’s love to the people of Ethiopia, CITA in collaboration with local churches conducted evangelistic crusades in April and in October, 2021.
During their time of ministry in Ethiopia, Ukrainian missionaries trained pastors and family ministers, organized eye clinics for Muslim population, distributed food packages to the needy, and met with government officials at an evangelistic crusade. CITA Mission Director Taras Sen’ also recorded programs for a local TV channel.
In the spring of 2021, CITA Ministries has opened a branch of the media center in the capital of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa, and produced the first edition of the Amharic-language evangelical newspaper “Christ Is the Answer”. The media center in Ethiopia, with the support of Ukrainian missionaries, now has its own Youtube and Telegram channels, and a Facebook page.
In the spring of 2022, the Mission opened a subsidiary church, Christ is the Answer, and a missionary center in Addis Ababa. Graduates of the missionary school work in different regions of Ethiopia, including settlements where tribesmen and Muslims live. As of the first half of 2024, more than 20 churches have already been opened in Ethiopia, 13 of which were opened in 2023.
During the same year, four graduates of the missionary school were held and four large-scale crucifixions were held in different cities of the country together with local ministers. The Christ is the Answer newspaper is now published in the most widely spoken language, Oromo.
