In Cambodia, the CITA has been working with a local missionary since the fall of 2021. The main areas of focus are eye clinics and Christian calendars.
More than 90% of the population of this country in Southeast Asia are Buddhists. According to Cambodian missionary Yevgeny Evva, it is possible to preach the Gospel freely here. The Khmer people are open to accepting “another god” and easily say a prayer of repentance. However, for a conscious conversion and acceptance of Jesus Christ as the only God, it takes at least two years of work with a new convert.
Eugene Evva conducts charity eye clinics at local churches and prisons in the country’s provinces.
In Cambodia, this tool is effective for the elderly, for whom there is no pension in the country and it is almost impossible for them to get from villages to cities to receive medical care: along with the Gospel, the elderly receive free glasses and a doctor’s consultation.
The eye clinics raise the status of the evangelical church in the eyes of the Khmer people.
Christian calendars in the Khmer language are also distributed in prisons, schools, churches, and on the streets of the country with the assistance of the missionary. The first edition was 10 thousand copies.
Over the past two years, another 20 thousand calendars have been printed for free distribution among the population of Cambodia’s provinces.
